Things to Know:

Super Surge is Back! [Friday | September 27th]

It’s that time of year again! Super Surge will begin on Friday, September 27th, and will run for 6-8 weeks. We need your help to make this important ministry a success. The program will take place on Fridays from 2:30 to around 4:00 PM at Hidden Falls, just ½ mile south on Bells Ferry.

There are 6 different roles to fill, and none of them are difficult. You’ll be truly blessed as you minister to over 65 children, ages 3-12. If you have any questions, please speak to Paul Loda. There’s a signup sheet on the board in the lobby for signing up.

First Aid Equipment Training [Sunday | September 29th | After Service]

Jesus taught us that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for another. We don’t want you to do that ahead of time. To that end, Hope Church now has a defibrillator and a more complete first aid kit available in the event of an emergency. There will be a brief orientation to these resources after service on Sunday, September 29th, for the Sunday Greeting, Parking,  and Usher teams and anyone else you would like to join. It is not a full-blown first-aid class, but we want to make everyone aware of where these things are and how to use them.

A little more hope…

This past Sunday, Pastor David took us deeper into the “I AM” series by introducing us to another name of God: YHWH Shalom—the LORD is peace. This name doesn’t simply describe what God does but reveals who He is. As YHWH, He remains the same—His peace is always available, constant, and unwavering. What I see is true for me. The peace we witness in Scripture is the same peace God extends to us today because He is the I AM, ever-present and unchanging.

Pastor David shared the story of Gideon, who experienced YHWH Shalom during a time of fear and uncertainty (Judges 6:24). God provided peace before the battle even began, showing us that His peace is not dependent on calm circumstances but on His steadfast presence.

Take time this week to meditate on how God is YHWH Shalom, the God of peace, in every situation. Here are a few stories to reflect on:

Old Testament:

  • Psalm 4 – Peace in trust and rest.
  • Psalm 29 – Peace as a blessing from the LORD.
  • Isaiah 26:3-4 – Perfect peace through trusting in God.

New Testament:

As you read these passages, reflect on how YHWH Shalom is bringing peace into your life right now. What I see is true for me—God’s peace is always present, always available.
